Teaching rudiments to grade eight drummers in Surrey BC

My School Clinic Philosophy
Teachers, I would be happy to meet with you and show you my curriculum. In the meantime, I would invite you to explore this website for student achievements  and see my résumé. My curriculum is very thorough and it is geared to helping students with both concert band and stage band. I give each student practical techniques which can be applied directly to school band.  Along with student handouts, students are given great “goodie bags” from both Sabian and Vic Firth- posters, stickers, magazines and great educational resources! I am a very experienced drum teacher working in Walnut Grove. I have been teaching for 40 years, the last 15 in my current home studio. I was the head drum teacher for the Tom Lee Music Academy for nine years (2000 – 2009).

Johnston Heights Swing Dance (1)

Swing Patrol plays a swing dance after a workshop at Johnson Heights Secondary.

As well as doing drum clinics, my Swing Patrol band has done fully sponsored school workshops on the subject of traditional jazz. These workshops are always a huge success with teachers and students alike. Ask me about applying for a workshop at your school!
